Saturday: Pancakes, Pep Walks, and Pranks

March 19, 2016

Ashly and I got home at 3am (not the first time). So my Biggie and Twin asking me to come over for pancake breakfast at 10am was a real big struggle. I don't know why my twin voted to do it so early because she was at Jersey Jam with me late last night too. Oh well. Biggie taught us the magic of two different pancake toppings: peanut butter & syrup and butter & brown sugar. They're amazing. Also, I made a Mickey Mouse pancake without breaking the ears off so that's a pretty amazing (and delicious) accomplishment if I do say so myself. Go Caitie.
After breakfast, we met a little group of some other Kappa Deltas to participate in the "Out of Darkness" walk that Utah State University put on to launch the beginning of their Mental Health Awareness week. It was a really cool event. Every life matters and everyone needs to know how much they are loved. Make sure that you tell those you love that you love them. A lot. All of the time.
After the walk, Ashly and I ran some errands to get ready for the rest of White Rose Weekend and found her a super cute dress for initiation tomorrow. Oh, and Chugz. As usual.

White Rose Weekend is different for the new members and the active members of Kappa Delta which is really cool because it makes the sisterhood within your pledge class grow like crazy. As all of Utah State Greek row knows, White Rose Weekend means 2am pranks from the active KDs. So they try to lock their doors and hide their lawn letters and trophies. But we always prevail. There's usually toilet paper, silly string, stolen plaques and trophies, and apparently Pike's chapter room and bathrooms got smothered in Kappa Delta stickers. Weird. I love White Rose Weekend and am so excited for initiation tomorrow!
Sorry Pike, I really do love you.
Love, Caitie the KD
