It's Not Goodbye, It's See You Later

August 14, 2016

SATURDAY NIGHT: party and fiesta at my house filled to the brim with desserts.
And Spike Ball. And tramp jumping. And the Olympics. And humans.
my little baby girls who will be all big and grown up when I come home
SUNDAY MORNING: I spoke in my home ward (which is the greatest ward ever) and then Hannah Jane and my uncle Paul sang/played "Nearer My God to Thee" which made my tear ducts run dry and then Elder Oaks of the Quorum of the 12 Apostles and his wife spoke which was so cool. After church, Elder Oaks and I had a little one on one chat which was super amazing and I feel so lucky. In the words of Abbey, "THE CHURCH IS TRUE FOLKS"
SUNDAY AFTERNOON: After church on Sunday, my whole family headed over to my house for lunch and games before they all headed back home. Sad and so bittersweet.

By the time I come home from my mission,
Ashly will be like a real adult and that's insane.
You go girl.
Allie is going to go and be big and great and wonderful in Alabama and I am
so, so, so excited for her and her sweet and loving spirit.
Those southern peeps are the luckiest to have her.

Always in Paradise

August 12, 2016

I seriously am the luckiest. I am always in paradise- from JH to Utah State to the cabin to Alaska. Like seriously so, so, so blessed.

This week was our Jacobsen family reunion up at the cabin in Hebgen Lake (outside of West Yellowstone) and it has always been one of my favorite parts of the summer. It was a little bittersweet to know the whole time that it was going to be my last time there for a little while. But the cabin will still be there when I come home from Alaska. Max and I headed up there a few days early to hang out with Grandma and Grandpa and go for a Friday night waterski with the Belfry Jacobsens.

Everyone started to show up Sunday evening and Monday morning so it was time to party. Jumping off the pier, slider rides with Grandma Charlotte driving (a scary fun experience), kneeboarding, sunsets, fishing, Harry Potter reading, paddle boarding, canoe flipping, hikes, tie dye shirts, and everything in between. So here's some photo evidence for you:

I don't know about your grandma, but mine makes us laugh so hard we stop breathing and drives 50mph while we are on the tube with no mercy. It's great.
