A Savior is Born

December 1, 2015

Mama Laura's favorite holiday is Christmas (and Cinco de Mayo). Maybe it's because that means it's Toffee Season at our house or because it means she knows that she is going to get a new sweater, Smartwool socks, and some new jewelry for Christmas from us because that's what she gets every year. Or blaring Christmas music all day, all the time and having a huge tree scrape the ceiling of our family room and pulling out the infinite boxes of Christmas decorations to cover our house in red and green. I love it.

I have no shame in admitting that even though I'm eighteen years old, I still don't sleep very well on Christmas Eve because Santa is on his way and that I love opening the Christmas poppers at breakfast wearing the colorful paper crowns and eating ebelskivers. It's the best. But the fact that Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, is my favorite part of all.
I love the Christmas hymn that we sing in church, "Oh, Come, All Ye Faithful".
Oh, come all ye faithful,
Joyful and triumphant!
Oh, come ye, oh come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold him,
Born the King of angels;

Oh, come, let us adore him;
Oh, come, let us adore him;
Oh, come, let us adore him;
Christ, the Lord.

Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation;
Sing, all ye citizens of heav'n above!
Glory to God,
Glory in the highest;

Oh, come, let us adore him;
Oh, come, let us adore him;
Oh, come, let us adore him;
Christ, the Lord.

Yea, Lord, we greet thee,
Born this happy morning;
Jesus, to thee be all glory given.
Son of the Father,
Now in flesh appearing;

Oh, come, let us adore him;
Oh, come, let us adore him;
Oh, come, let us adore him;
Christ, the Lord.

My institute teacher challenges us to share the new video that the LDS church recently released all about the true meaning of Christmas. I think that it's super duper awesome so you should all watch it. Hey, I even added it below for you to watch! You're welcome.
There are lots more Christmas videos released by the church that I will probably eventually share on here, but I think that this one is a really good one to start out December with. I hope that when you are sitting on your bedroom floor wrapping Christmas presents for your friends and family or carefully decorating your Christmas trees, that you think about what Christmas is really about.
This picture is a million years old, but it's the only Christmas photo that I could find. Throwback Tuesday to Christmas Eve at Kingfisher Ranch forever ago.
Love,
Caitie
