Bright and early this morning I pulled Max out of bed, smothered some sunscreen on him, and tossed him in my car then headed over to Driggs to meet my dad, Mama Laura, Hannah, and a whole crew of Darby Girl's Camp girls to hike up Tablerock.

Max & I made it to the trail head almost ten minutes before everyone else so we stayed in my car to warm up and watch these Boy Scouts scramble together in the parking lot. Before heading out, they came and tapped on my car window and asked if I would get out and take a group photo for them. Getting out of my car was super awkward and
I don't think I got a single photo of everyone looking at the camera- sorry peeps it was like 7am.
Whenever my family and I hike Table, we go up the Face Trail (please read the sign below especially the "not recommended" in small print haha) which is pretty much a vertical climb of switchbacks for a few miles. It's pretty dang hard, just saying. The other way that you could hike is through Huckleberry Meadows but we usually go down that way because it is a little bit longer than hiking the Face and there's not very many trees so you're roasting by mile two.
So it's either shorter & straight up or longer & hotter. This hike rocks.
Here's a photo that I took of one of the trail sections going up the Face.
It's so rocky and so steep. Yay.

It took us a little over three hours from parking lot to summit but it could not have been a more perfect day. There were no clouds in the sky and the breeze felt amazing. The top of Table looks out on the backside of the Grand Teton and this morning it was so blue and beautiful.

Here's an early Dunlop Christmas card for your pleasure
The way down is almost as brutal as the way up because it's so steep
that you're border-line sprinting down the rocky cliff the whole time. It's awesome.

We all stopped by Corner Drug in Driggs after the hike to get some Lime Freezes then Max and I headed back over the pass and came home. Max passed out dead asleep about ten minutes into our drive so he missed out on my hour and a half of solo karaoke. Your loss dude- it was awesome.
Climb more mountains people because
this world is so amazing.
Love, Caitie
