I somehow convinced these two hooligans to come and visit me this weekend.
Living six hours away from Allie and Ashly is so much worse than living six inches away from them.
And I needed them back to come and celebrate my favorite day in the whole world with me. I know, I'm needy.
But getting up super early so they could be at my church at 9am on Sunday, that's love people.
After church, we drove up into Grand Teton National Park and walked around both Jenny and Taggart Lake before it was dinner time. The weather was so perfect in the words of Allie Winter, "it was UNREAL,".

My childhood dream of owning a trampoline also included being able to sleep out under the stars on it so when my dad told us that it wasn't supposed to rain on Sunday night, we piled up the blankets and sleeping bags to sleep out there. We toughed it out out there until 3:30am when I was so sick of having to hide under my sopping wet pillow from the rain that I finally called it and we went slipping into the back door and crawled into my room dripping wet and cold.
We had to meet Katie and her family at 8am on Monday to get ready for the parade. So that was super awesome after our four(ish) hours of sleeping inside. I somehow convinced Allie and Ashly to come and be on the Fourth of July parade float for Sundance Spas & the Big Green Egg Grill with Katie and I despite the hour and a half of sprinkling rain while we waited for the parade to start. They were troopers after madly dashing through Smith's for ribs, candy, chocolate milk, and donuts then speeding to the Dollar Tree to buy any remaining red, white, and blue decorations (such as glow sticks and bubbles). Go team!
The people of Town Square were not as stoked about our selfie stick
as we were so that was a little awkward but whatever. Tourists rock- sometimes.
After the parade, we went to Pica's then went back to my house to take a power nap after our spotty sleeping last night.
Then we drove out to Mormon Row to take photos in our Old Navy flag shirts.
What's more classic than the Fourth of July Old Navy flag shirts? I mean, really.

| I can't even tell you how many times we tried to take a good jumping photo. But none of them worked. |
We drove back from Mormon Row and had burgers at my house before driving into town to watch the fireworks from our hammocks in the church parking lot. Yay for America and small town firework shows that last like ten minutes!
We tried to write "USA" with sparklers in the backyard but they burned out too fast.
So you get these super awesome squiggles of light. Sorry not sorry.
Tuesday morning we wet suited up and headed down the Snake River Canyon with Lewis & Clark and white watered the Snake River. It was Allie's first time and so she pretty much screamed all eight miles of river and kept yelling that she would be okay as long as she stayed in the boat. She didn't fall out- no one did. But you should see the bruises on the tops of Allie's feet from her shoving her feet so tightly under the seats. Dang Shakira. Rafting the Snake is one of my favorite things and I'm so glad I could drag these two down there with me.
By the time that we got off the rafts and dried off on the bus ride back to town, we were starving. Like the hangry-type of starving. So we went to Sidewinders and ate so much food I think I gained like twenty pounds in pretzel. WOO.
I'm just pretending that the next time I have to say goodbye to Allie and Ashly isn't at my farewell in August. But it is. Let's just not talk about it. I absolutely adore them and that they would drive six hours to come and play in my mountains and rivers with me.
Love, Caitie (and Allie and Ashly)
