Nanny Caitie: Week #1

May 15, 2016

I feel like I am in this weird "Floater" stage right now where I don't really have a home and I am between finishing my freshman year of college and preparing to go and serve a mission. It's super weird. But this is what I have been up to...

I drove home to Jackson Hole from USU on Wednesday night after finishing my CHEM 1110 final (ew) and then packing up and checking out of Snow #208 (sad). When I got there, my house was filled with the Young Women and missionaries from our ward dipping caramels with my mom for the mothers in our ward for Mother's Day like we do every year. It was a chocolatey mess.

Most of Thursday was spent attempting to unpack and move back into my room but it seems like Hannah has taken over in our room and there was no space for me. I went up to Bozeman on Friday and Saturday to watch Max play lacrosse at one of their team's tournaments there.

Then we came home and went to church Sunday morning for Mother's Day and then I had to pack up (once again- boo) and head down to Salt Lake City to be a nanny for my Aunt Courtney for the next few weeks. My car engine decided to overheat in Swan Valley and so I had to wait for my parents to come with some coolant and save the day. I was back on the road a few hours later and endured a hailstorm and some insane freeway drivers. I thought all was fine and dandy with my car until I had almost made it to Ogden and my car decided that it didn't quite want to make it and the overheating light turned on again. I cried in a Maverick gas station parking lot for a little bit until my grandparents came to rescue me. Long story short, my car made it to Salt Lake and went into the repair shop the next day. Cars hate me.

Monday morning I started being a nanny for Courtney and by nanny I mean diaper changer, dance costume ironer, preschool driver, flower picker upper, cookie baker, diaper changer (I've changed a lot of diapers this week), laundry doer, backstage headset speaker, professional Disney music DJ, little girl tea party planner, dinner maker, Costco shopper, and all that stuff. It's so fun but I am so exhausted and it's only the first week because Courtney needs me for two more weeks after this. So here's some photos of my insanity. Side note: there would be more of Charlotte but she's either at preschool or running around somewhere so she misses out.

Being a nanny makes me feel like Mary Poppins; so that's cool.
